Guys I just realized today is 10/9/08

That is all

Of course it doesn't count for you, Tess, since it'd be 9/10/08 and it's one day ahead where you are anyway but REGARDLESS

TEN

NINE

EIIIIIIIIIIGHT

also, this is ridiculously dorky and creepy-stalkery and even though i am not a creepy stalker at all I WANT TO JOIN DAMMIT

Today stuff happened maybe maybe.

So guys today was a HALF-DAY at school. All classes shortened to 30 minutes, lunch and study period removed from schedule, out by 11:45, FUCK YES

In Chemistry today our lame teacher who I hate actually did something cool and let us all go to the gym. People played volleyball against the lame MIDDLE SCHOOLERS. I didn't because I hate sprarts.

Daniel, one of the dumb/hilarious kids in school was convinced that calling someone a "gay fag" was actually calling them straight, because apparently those cancelled each other out. When I pointed out to him that it didn't work that way he denied it. We got into a discussion about it and apparently he eventually decided that calling someone a "gay lesbian" meant that they were a transvestite who liked boys and girls. Someone else butted in and I stopped paying attention, but man, that must have been the hardest I laughed the whole day.

Other than that, nothing to report.

Oh, except I need to get an LJ picture of House.

I WANT TO BE A PART OF IT

Guys guys guys so there was a meeting at 6:30 tonight at school with the drama teacher (she's awesome) regarding the

NEW

YORK

TRIP

HELL YES

This is going to be SO BOSS. We're gonna go around New York and see all kinds of stuff and see two Broadway shows. That's right, one isn't enough! We are going to see TWO OF THEM!!! This is rad, this is awesome, this is fabulous, this is stupendous, this is BADASS I say. I was gonna go on the trip to Europe but when I heard about this I was like "FUCK THAT SHIT", this is going to blow it out of the water man. I am psyched for this thing.

Also we had our first fire drill of the school year today.

Also I've become obsessed with the Azumanga Daioh OST for some reason. (OST is Official Sound Track in case you didn't know.) Check it out here. I could rave on and on about why I love it so much and be a total music geek but I'm sure none of you want that shit. So I'll just tell you it's badass and you shouldn't leave home without it. Also maybe check out the anime itself, it's also badass and you shouldn't leave home without it either.

EVELATOR

ESCALATOR

FOOD - and lj meme

So guys, I don't have much to report today. Except that I watched more House. Also, I forgot the remnants of the quesadilla I had yesterday in the car and didn't realize it until I wanted it for lunch. So I brought it in and Mom said it was no good now, and I said it was probably fine as long as I didn't eat any of the side condiments, like the sour cream, or the guacamole (which was definitely bad). My creepy uncle who's been living with us while he doesn't have anywhere to live agreed with me. So I ate it. I feel fine now. I also had a nectarine. And a bunch of ice cream before lunch.

ALSO: I got this from dutchtoast so yeah here:

Post and I will list three things I love about you, plus maybe a few bonus ones if I I LOVE YOU THE MOST. So if I don't do extras you can assume I love you the least! =D (yes, homeschool, i am doing this just to bug you.) Then you have to do that in your journal.

Man I love this song. It's like a whole album side long and badass.

Hey guys, I'm gonna give this another shot. It's been nearly a year since my last entry, crazy eh? Anyway, updates:

•I got back into school a few weeks ago; I'm now in 10th grade.
•My IRL friends are pretty cool people despite the fact that they're the sort that Internet cool people would not come within 100 yards of; mostly my friend Emily who thinks ninjas are still cool and watches Naruto and etc. etc. etc.
•Nearly all my IRL friends are girls. This has been a constant in my life.
•Gotten into a lot of new music and shows and all that.
•Gotten into the drama program at school (like a year too late). This is pretty fuckin' rad.
•Generally I've gotten more mature... except not really

You're all still cool.

Einoo = a gigantic idiot.

So.

I have abandoned the whole "headers" idea. It was dumb.

We moved to the new school building this week. It was, like, INFINITELY better than the one we had before. The one we had before was basically falling apart by the minute and the new one is sleek and shiny and awesome. Only complaint with new building: The bell. It's IMPOSSIBLE to hear that fucking thing it's so quiet, and it sounds like that noise the seatbelt light on an airplane makes when it flashes. The hell?!

Nothing else happened.

I am pissed at myself. Mandy went to a TMBG concert and today so did Myrrh did.

TMBG came to my town.

I decided not to go see them of MY OWN FREE WILL.

GODDAMMIT WHAT THE FUCK'S WRONG WITH ME?! I'M AN IDIOT!!!

Er *cough* excuse me. I mean, I... Ah, god. What am I gonna do.

Well, go to the NEXT one, obviously. But that's going to be a zillion years from now... (OK, more like 3-5, but I'm 14. It'll seem like a zillion.)

Jeez... You know, I NEVER go and do anything. Years later everybody else is gonna look back on their lives and think of all the awesome experiences they had and I'll have absolutely nothing. My options are either to START going out and doing awesome things or just learn to live with the fact that my life is completely boring.

So, tell me, how do I live with it?

(What? I'm lazy.)

Oh CRAP! There's a bustle in my hedgerow!

So.

I'm gonna make this like a weekly thing that sums things up. Like, stories, maybe, but mostly new obsessions, things I'm looking forward to, recurring themes, and such. Using...

HEADERS. O SHI-

It'll happen on Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays, rarely. If I forget one time, bug me about it.

Anyway, let's begin, shall we?

HIGH SCHOOL

To be quick, it's a bit draining – the kids are mostly morons and they all think I'm a dipshit, which makes me Teh Lonely (although at the same time I'm glad I'm not in their group because it means I'm smart) – but it's OK. The teachers are a bit... bleh, but whaddaya gon' do. The English teacher is OK.

THE BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER

I've been on a Brave Little Toaster kick for a while. I NEED to find this movie to rent/buy/GET SOMEHOW. I tried looking for it last weekend but found no trace of it. That movie is awesome. They got JON LOVITZ to play a frickin' TALKING TOASTER. AWESOME. He totally steals the show, if I recall correctly. The musical numbers are pretty cool – they're arranged by Van Dyke Parks, after all – and plus it's actually a little twisted. The scary junkyard scene, the creepy messed up appliances in that shop, the weird nightmare sequence with Toaster... And that obession with The Master is a bit creepy. (I liked him – he was like a nerd and crap, before nerds were cool.)

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

Today is actually the first time I have ever listened to the song. I got around to it after watching a Biography thingy on Led Zeppelin on A&E. A good song, but not THAT great. As you can tell, the whole part about "If you hear a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed" amuses me greatly.

THE END

So yeah.

Some people are going to paint the house, so we have to clean out the rooms they're going to paint.

Today Mom and I did my room. It was a task, I assure you. Now it's almost done.

Also, I went to Taco Bell for lunch and then got my haircut. It was a good haircut. I had so much hair before that it got on my nerves and got in the way and shit.

Now I don't.

Yay.

I guess.

Also: I need shirts for back to school. This would be a good shirt to have.
Music and such

So, I was gonna post a review thingy on the new Potter movie, but I didn't write it yesterday and it kinda slipped out of my mind. I'll review it when I go see it again with Mom on Sunday or something.

But I did get The Else today, and in Barnes & Noble, no less. So I gots the bonus disc! I highly recommend it. It is seriously kick-ass. It's very TMBG, but it sounds like no TMBG album before it. A lot of the thanks for that probably goes to The Dust Brothers, who produced the album.

I also decided I needed to expand my myorsical horizons, and at the encouragement of Myrrh, I registered for pandora.com. The Musical Genome Project is a cool idea, but I think it's a bit misguided, since not all of the reasons someone likes a song is because of the tune and the instruments.

Yeah, that's all really.

Of movies, pests and cheese

So, nothing really interesting happened today. Mostly computer stareage. Gotta wake up early to go to the Harry Potter movie tommorrow though! I read a good review of it in the paper, and not by our usual local movie-reviewer, who is one of the worst ones in existence, it seems.

He liked Antz better than A Bug's Life.

I swear I'm not kidding.

Speaking of ants, we have them starting to show up in our house again. Stupid ants. Gonna have to call in the exterminator. Grumbly.

Anyway, I leave you with this TRUTH:

Feta cheese is the best goddamn cheese in the entire fucking universe.

Unless you disagree, of course.

You fascist. :P

Movies and other etceteras

I saw Live Free or Die Hard this morning. I'm not into action films, but it was good. It had thrills, spills, gills, and dills. It had that guy in it. *googles it* Justin Long. He's been in some other stuff, probably. Of course, if it were real, McClane would have died within the first 20 minutes, but I nonetheless recommend it.

In other news, when we were at the theater, we ran into a school friend with her mom (who also happened to be the teacher)! They were buying advance tickets for the new Harry Potter movie on Wednesday. The upshot of this is that I'm gon' see it on Wednesday morning with 'em plus another school friend! Woot and such! Despite what everyone says, I think the new Potter movie is going to be really good! They're going to have to cut most of the book out, but it will be really good regardless.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Keyboard Woes

So yesterday I spilled some juice on my keyboard. After cleaning it up, everything appeared to be normal, but then...

The F key stopped working.

When I tried to fix it, the G key stopped working too.

Then the H key.

Then half the keyboard.

Then suddenly, the whole thing just crapped out on me. The mouse soon followed, and I was forced to restart.

After confessing to my parents and a lot of angriness, we took out a keyboard we had stuck in a garage to replace it, and I had to vow never to drink anything near the computer ever again in this lifetime or any ones following. I was banned from compy for rest of night.

Anyway, other than that, no news on the home front. Bye!

I was not, contrary to popular belief, locked in the bathtub.

Instead, I just stopped for a while.

Yeeep.

Just stopped.

I was gonna inform you about anything that happened during my absence, but so much happened in the last day and such that if I did talk about other stuff, this post would become excruciatingly long.

Sort of like my reading of all the entries you guys made while I was gone, thanks to the sheer amount of time, and number of users – and also thanks to certain users who apparently cannot go for about five seconds without posting on here.

*glares at chakramchucker*

So here goes:

Yesterday and until just now today, I took a short trip to Phoenix. You know. The capital of Arizona? Yeah, okay. My mother and I were going to see the Rembrandt exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum (which we had previously planned for earlier, but had to call off due to Mom's Serious Illness – hey, that wouldn't make a bad band name). So, we set off for Phoenix, like I had previously stated. ANYWAY– we did fine until we tried to get on the exit for You Know Which City. Because it had been blocked off.

So we had to take the exit to the airport area, and then while on THAT block of interstate, we got off on the road we were supposed to go to to get to the Youknowwhere Art Museum. There was a slight problem though:

The destination was near 7th Street.

We were on 48th.

No biggie, though – we just have to follow the road until we get where we're going.

We decided to take a short stop at a 7-11, since we were hungry but didn't want to take the time to eat actual food. We stopped, and I got some Twix bars and Doctor Pepper, the king of caffeinated drinks. Well, some of you may argue that coffee is better, but it's the king of soft drinks, at the very least. Stopping at 7-11 was great, but we realized something on our subsequent return to the car.

The keys

Were locked inside the car.

The RENTAL

Car.

With the car

RUNNING.

AGAIN.

Suffice to say that after much frustration, AAA fortunately came by to save our sorry asphalt yet again. Unfortunately, at that point it was about 10:30. And our ticket pickup deadline was 10:45.

After driving all the way down to 7th street, then following the remaining directions and the crossing of all my fingers (inwardly of course), we just BARELY made it.

It was cool. It was not only Rembrandt, but also Dutch art. There were paintings. Lots of 'em. And they were very interesting. There was this weird thing we took with us where you punch in numbers then press a button and hold it to your ear so you can hear comments on the art, but it got annoying so I gave it to Mom.

But the real fun came when we went out of that part of the museum and saw the rest.

IT WAS SO AWESOME.

There were a lot of interesting things. Weird modern art things, other paintings, an exhibit showing how automobiles influenced fashion (in a way that made people look extremely ridiculous, in case you were wondering), actual classic cars (which were way cool), and Some Naked People™.

But my favorite thing was the following installation piece:

It was designed by a female Japanese conceptual artist. No, not that one. Really, it's not. What do you mean you don't know what I'm talking about? Of course you do. Come on, admit it. You were thinking of Yoko. Well, it's not her, and I really don't see why it should be, as conceptual artists appear to be as common in Japan as, say, grass is here in the USA.

Anyway, I'm getting off track. It's a completely black, mirrored room with LEDs hanging from the ceiling on various lengths of... black stringtype stuff. The LED lights periodically changed color/turned off/whatever, as controlled by a computer. The effect? You're in a dark void, which goes on infinitely, with colored "stars" (or whatever your interpretation is, the artist mentions fireflies in the title but this doesn't really seem fitting to me) in every direction. God, it was so gorgeous. And if you know me, you know that is NOT something I say very often nor want to say very often since it makes me sound stupid. But this piece deserve that praise completely. If you are ever in the Phoenix vicinity, I ask– nay, demand – that you go to this museum, if only just to see that piece.

They also had music. They had students from ASU compose pieces and had other ASU students perform them in string quartets. They would have them play a song inspired by an art piece (next to the aforementioned art pieces), and then they would have different string quartets play different songs by different composers in response to different art pieces, which of course meant that the audience had to move around a whole lot. It was cool. The pieces were definitely avant-garde, but they were very fun to listen to.

After that, we left, and we stopped over to see my aunt and uncle's house/apartment/thing, since they live there and we were staying there. We ate some lunch, then headed to the 24th Annual Blues and Jazz Festival. Cuz it was there. It was all right, and we had some fun, but I personally found it kinda boring, since we were listening to the blues and it was a bit slow, to be honest. Still, funtimes. I had ice cream.

After that, when it was later in the evening, we stopped for something you can find anywhere in the US: cheap Chinese food. Ah! That wonder of all wonders. It's indubitably crap, but you love it, don't you? Well, we did!

We also rented a movie: The Pursuit of Happyness. Will Smith is excellent in it, and it's a real heartwrencher. I won't give anything away, but the main character gets reduced so low that at one point he is forced to sleep in a bus station bathroom. And it's a true story. Sad. But uplifting. Oh, also it has the guy who plays Homer Simpson (Dan Castellaneta) in a minor role as a corporate suit.

Then I went to sleep in the guest bedroom. The bed was rather lumpy, and when you moved around on it, it made noises similar to a piece of paper crumpling raised by about 5-10 decibels and slowed down from 33 to 72 rpm. Still, I slept.

Then I woke up, and after some breakfast, we went to another museum: The Phoenix Science Center or something like that. And saw Body Worlds 3. You know, where they have all those people's insideys shown in statues. Pretty cool, and you learn a lot about the human body. However, if you are a prude and are offended by naked people, don't go. More importantly, if you are offended by people who not only are not wearing clothes but who have no SKIN on and are DEAD, then don't go. And if you faint at the sight of blood, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T GO! There's not any (flowing) blood, of course, but I'm guessing if you don't like blood, you're not going to like cadavers, either.

Afterwards, we saw other hands-on type stuff at the museum, ate at a Jack-in-the-Box, and drove home. The only thing notable about the drive home is that as we drove, there was some very heavy wind that was blowing a crapload of dust around. So much that you could barely see, at one point. There was a whole LOT of it. I mean srsly.

So there's the end to my long post.

If you're curious about anything you may have missed, let me tell you that all you missed was standardized testing (complete with the idiotic questions that surely were intended for 4-year-olds or something), and a sleepover thing where my classmates and I all went to someone's house and Had Fun, but only got 3 hours of sleep MAX. Not that we weren't trying, but... Ugh. Don't wanna talk about it.

Anyway, there.

Wait, nobody missed me. Or cared.

D=

(yeah just kidding you guys were MISERABLE without me. BD)

This'll be my first post with it – let's hope it works.

I'm a bit off-kilter right now. Not as much as I was a little while ago, but still a little. It was fun!

EDIT: Oh, BTW, the music blowy thingymabob I got is called a melodica. Yeah.

Some Crap

Nothing to report. Oh, except what I do usually every Wednesday from January until May: I stay at school until 6 for DRAMA CLASS TYPE. Yes. We're doing THE TEMPEST. Shakespeare, yes, but mostly improv, with some Shakespeare to memorize thrown in. Cool stuff, yes. I play the COMIC RELIEF part of Stephano the drunkard.

Anyway, my school is weird. It's actually called a school for "gifted children." But the fact is... it IS. It's actually really neat, and better than YOURS HAHA. Which sort of makes me feel kinda seperated from a lot of my friends on the Internet who go to schools that aren't so great. However, whenever I tell someone what school I go to, most of the time they have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about. This is embarrassing. DX

Nothing else to say. Spring break in three days! *counting today* Technically it starts next Monday, but for all intents and purposes, it's Saturday.

Yeah that's all.

You say it's your birthday? It's my birthday too, yeah!

Yep. Today I am 14! IMAGINE THAT. I HAVE LIVED FOR AN ARBITRARY PERIOD OF TIME WHICH IS CONSIDERED TO BE 14 YEARS. Anyway, today when I went to school, this kid in my class, Max, was passing out grapefruits for some reason, and I took one! 'Twas pretty good, but hard to eat.

A lot later, at school, the awesome teacher suddenly made this big speech about it being a special day, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Then she remembered it was... MY BIRTHDAY! *Gasp.* And so, she passed out bon-bons. Everyone got one, except for me, who ate THREE. Delish.

Later on, when I got home, I got my PRESENT. I had told my parents that I wanted an ACCORDION. Thanks to all that TMBG I listen to, and other such and suches, I am fortunate enough to understand the Awesome of the Accordion. They said they were gonna, but it was too expensive. They said they were going to wait until they had re-financed the home (long story) so they could afford to get an accordion, which costed about $250 used. (For a new one it costs thousands of dollars.) For the time being, they decided to give me this cheaper thing, which makes up for its non-accordion-ness just for being so WEIRD-ASS. XD

See, it's this keyboard thing, but you blow into it with your mouth to make sound. Messed up. I LOVE it.

You can play it like this:

Or this:

OK, so then my Mom and I went to the video rental place because we forgot to return a movie that was due today. It's not one of those video rental chains, I think it's locally owned and operated. It's awesome, but far from our house. So it took us a while to get there... And then when we got out of the car...

Mom locked her keys in it.

While it was running.

As you can imagine, we were frustrated, but fortunately, the AAA guy was really near us when he got the call, and before we knew it we were out of there, WITH some videos to boot.

And then I got home, and started writing this post. And ate some shrimp with cocktail sauce for dinner. Then came back and finished this post.

Then I had to muck around with browsers since LJ has been all screwy and won't let me post. D=<

Well, all in all, my birthday was pretty kick-ass. A party wouldn't have helped. Maybe it would have made it worse.

I don't really like birthday parties anymore. Yeah... >_>

POWER OUTAGE

So this morning I woke up and started watching Simpsons episodes. Well, around noon, the TV turned off suddenly, and it turned out that there was some kinda power outage in my area. We were pretty frustrated and got all irritated and kinda started shouting at each other a whole lot. My dad tried to make some calls. The phone was out in some places and working in others that he called.

Then, my dad and I went out to the store to get out of the house, and we bought some stuff for dinner (salsa for some thing he was gonna make), and for lunch (sushi/California rolls) and I got a soda. And a copy of the Weekly World News because it's so silly. Anyway, then we came home and then the power was on! So. Yeah. And that's it really. *shrug*

I decided to restart my LJ.

This time I promise it won't be lame.

Well, maybe not.

In any case, here I am.

Yay.

Oh, and my birthday's in two days. Plus spring break is coming soon.

Other than that, nothing you need to know.

Bye!

I have nothing to talk about.

And I don't want to comment on other people's LJs.

Wow, I got bored of this really quickly. That's not unusual for me though.

Maybe I'll just make stupid hilarious lists from now on.

There's actually a lot going on right now in my life, but I never want to talk about that stuff on my LJ.... so why the hell do I even have one?
